We are a geospatial SaaS company seeking a motivated Sales Development Representative to help build our sales pipeline and introduce PointMan software to new prospects.

This role is focused on identifying potential customers, researching target accounts, initiating conversations, qualifying opportunities and arranging discovery calls or product demonstrations for the sales team. It is ideal for someone who wants to build a long-term career in SaaS sales, with the opportunity to progress into a full Sales role.

Key responsibilities

  • Research target companies, agencies and industry accounts within priority verticals.
  • Identify relevant decisionmakers and influencers.

  • Explain the relevant business value of PointMan without replacing the formal product demonstration or sales process.
  • Schedule qualified discovery calls and product demonstrations.
  • Maintain accurate prospect, activity and opportunity records in the CRM.
  • Follow up consistently with prospects who are not yet ready to buy.
  • Work closely with Marketing to provide feedback on campaigns, messaging and lead quality.
  • Work closely with the salesperson to ensure qualified opportunities are properly handed over.
  • Share recurring objections, competitor information and market feedback with Sales and Marketing.
  • Meet agreed activity, meeting-generation, qualification and pipeline targets.
  • Attend training, product sessions, industry events and sales meetings.
  • Support other sales-development activities as required.

Success measures

  • Qualified meetings booked.
  • Meeting attendance rate.
  • Sales-accepted opportunities.
  • Pipeline value sourced or influenced.
  • Conversion from meeting to qualified opportunity.
  • Accurate and timely CRM records.
  • Follow-up speed and consistency.
  • Contribution to target-account coverage.

Experience and qualifications

  • Previous experience in sales development, inside sales, customer service, account management or a similar client-facing role is preferred.
  • Experience making outbound calls and initiating contact with new prospects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable learning and explaining a technology product.
  • Able to handle initial objections professionally.
  • Experience with HubSpot or another CRM system is desirable.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working to measurable targets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Curious and willing to learn.
  • Coachable and receptive to feedback.
  • Commercially minded.
  • Comfortable speaking with people at different levels of an organization.
  • Consistent and disciplined with follow-up.
  • Motivated by the opportunity to progress into a full Sales role.

Career progression

A successful SDR may progress from SDR to Senior SDR and then into an Account Executive, Sales Executive or Enterprise Sales role. Progression should be based on demonstrated competence in qualification, discovery preparation, pipeline generation, product knowledge and commercial communication, not simply time in role.

Compensation and benefits

  • Competitive hourly base pay, proposed range: $20–$25per hour, depending on experience.
  • Commission or incentive compensation linked to qualified meetings, sales-accepted opportunities and closed revenue.
  • Full-time employees are entitled to benefits under the Company’s insurance plans, including health, dental, vision and life insurance.
