Route 1 – Snap to Point

Note: This route is ideal if:

  • your new line only has two points with one being a point of an existing line
  • the two points at which you want the line to connect are not the end points of each of the lines
  1. Collect your first line and tap “Finish”
  2. Tap “New” to start collecting a new line
  3. At the bottom, make sure the “Add” button is selected (it should be orange) and then tap “Snap” to activate the snap feature (it should now be orange as well).
Note: If you do not see the Snap button, you must first enable it from the Settings page.
  4. Tap the point that you want the line to continue from
  5. Then continue collecting the points for that new line and tap “Finish” when you are done

Route 2 – Join Line Feature:

Note: This feature joins the endpoints of each line that are nearest to each other, regardless of which point in the line was selected at the time. See the images below for clarification.

Wiki page for “Line Split & Join”: https://support.prostarcorp.com/index.php?title=Line_Split_%26_Join

    1. Collect your first line and tap “Finish”
    2. Tap “New” to start collecting a new line
    3. Collect the new line from the point at which would be the next point from your actual starting point
    4. When done, tap “Finish”
    5. With the second line already selected, tap “Move”
    6. Tap “Join” at the bottom (it should be orange if activated)
    7. Note: If you do not see the Join button, you will need to enable the feature from the settings page.
    8. Tap to select the other line you want to join and tap “Join”
    9. The line will connect the two nearest endpoints of each line
